From getting academic tutoring to eating a healthy afternoon snack to learning about robotics - afterschool is beneficial for all children and all families who need this service. But quality afterschool helps children who are the most at-risk. How? Afterschool creates opportunities for children whose families may not have access to resources or by providing young people with positive adult mentors and dynamic learning activities.
Those opportunities are key to help young people build skills, acquire passions, come to understandings and take on responsibilities for changing their worlds as they grow, learn and develop.
